Scales details.

NAME: Yumikarp (English), 夕実キング [yumikingu] (Japanese)
TYPE: Flying/Psychic(?)
EVOLUTION: No known evolution.
Yumikarp is genderless.

Well, that most certainly took its time.
Especially to draw all the scales, dfgsdfg.

But I'm like...

So damn happy right now.

This.
This right here.
Is my masterpiece.

I love it.

//throws my love at it ~ ♥(〃∇〃)

3rd EDIT!!!
New tail! I was never happy with the first tail so I finally took some time (after a lot of practice) and made a new one to fit my taste!

2nd EDIT!!
Edited/added some trivias (Skin-coloured ears, Seasons, Food, Cry, Measurements)♥

EDIT!
I remember that I wrote a couple of trivias/facts about Yumikarp, added those.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Skin-coloured ears
Yumikarp's ears has the same colour as pale skin. But in fact, they aren't bare skin at all, but fur of tiny (but very soft) hairstrands.

Magikarp-copycat
Yumikarp resembles Magikarp, but has many aspects in its appearance that makes a big difference. One such is that Magikarp has a pure orange colour, which is actually very dark when you think about it.
While Yumikarp is of a much lighter orange which at first glance looks like gold. Thus, in history and myths, humans described Yumikarp as "a golden fish in the sky".

Golden shine
When light - such as sun- or moonlight - reflects on the scales on Yumikarp's body, it emits an illusion that Yumikarp is shining. Thus, adds to the myth of being a fish of gold.
* Note; A shiny Yumikarp has a white body with blue eyes and ears.

Type
By further studies, Yumikarp is set to be a double-type; Flying/Psychic.
This is still unclear though as there is something in this that doesn't make sense. Thus many believe Yumikarp to be something even more unexpected and it remains a mystery even today.
* Trivia; It's often mistaken to be a water-type due to its appearance, but Yumikarp can in fact not swim.

Looks like a fish
Yumikarp is a "Bunny Koi". The part where 'bunny' is put before 'koi' is very important since Yumikarp isn't a fish at all. It might look like one, but it's far from it. Even so, it's not really a bunny either. No one actually knows what it really is, and it remains a mystery even today.

Real life resemblance
Yumikarp resembles a butterfly koi - also called dragon koi - the most due for its fins and tail. But also because of its scales, which has been is rumoured to have fossils of being found by scientists, who has studied them and drawn the conclusion that they resemble dragon-scales more than fish-scales.
They are also a bit harder than dragon-scales, but flexible and lighter than a feather.

Flying ability
More of a fact rather than a rumour now after closer studies is that it isn't the ears flapping that lets Yumikarp fly. In fact, it's actually the very light scales on its body which lets it flow - much like Gligar and Gliscor - thanks to the wind.
But compared to Gligar/Gliscor, it can flow even by the smallest, barely notable wind in the air, which Gligar/Gliscor can only fly by being "pushed" by the wind and then ride it. This is also why Yumikarp can stand still in mid-air, like a ghost (or psychic) Pokémon.
Reasons to why it still flaps its ears are unknown - perhaps to fool the enemy about it's "weak spot"?

Transforming
Like Ditto and Mew, Yumikarp has the ability to change form to look like other Pokémon, but apparently it can not copy their moves. No one knows if it has a set time-limit or not. Not much information is known about this since it is almost as rare to find as Mew but even harder to find info about.
And more than just Pokémon-shape-shifting, it can also shape into a human-form (both male and female) much like Latios and Latias. But compared to them, it doesn't make an exact copy of another human. Certain features in appearance will still remain the same, i.e. haircolour. Whether it can speak human speech or not is still unknown.

Nest
It is unknown where Yumikarp holds its nest - if it even has a set home or travels around is unsure too. But it is rumoured in old legends to be high up in the sky, hidden by the clouds. Rumours have said that there has been seen a shiny Swablu or a fish-like creature around the Altarias, thus it is assumed that Yumikarp enjoys their company and might share a nest with them.

Seasons
It is said to love the Winter for its beautiful scenery but due to being weak against the cold (considering its body type), it has to go into a sort of hibernation during the colder months.
It then sleeps through the Spring and awakens by the time of Summer. Yumikarp can sleep for very long (days up till years) and awakens when its hidey-hole is getting too warm. So if it has chosen a chilly nest or if the summer is short, it is able to sleep in until the next summer - if, that summer turns out to be a hot one. If the same scene repeats once more, Yumikarp will continue to sleep. It does not require any food during this time as its skin feeds on the particles in the air. It always choose a lit up place, often below bare sky, so that it will feel when summer is here.
If Spring turns out to be hotter than usual, there is a slight chance that Yumikarp might wake up earlier.
Its favorite season seems to be Autumn. The rainy periods attracts it since the air is more refreshing and the rain gives off an alluring smell.

Food
As said before, Yumikarp feeds on the particles in the air through its scales. So it does not require actual food, but it does have its preferences. Yumikarp dislikes sweet food and loves sour and bitter tastes. It really loves fruit and if lucky you might find it in trees filled with fruit, which might also be the reason for its name (where 'yumi' means 'evening fruit'). It prefers berries such as Aspear (sour), Iapapa, Rawst (bitter), Aguav, Wepear (both sour and bitter), Rabuta and Durin.

Cry
Yumikarp yet has a known cry. Those who claim to have met it says it is always quiet but with a gentle expression. Since it is a Psychic-type, most assume that Yumikarp knows telepathy like other Psychic-type Pokémon, but there are no actual rumours about this only assumption.

Height (total): 70cm / 2'4"
(only body): 37cm / 1'3"
(only tail): 33cm / 1'1"

Hahaha, must be for the colour that made you think of Fire, I presume? :P
Thank you! <3<3

Its appearance is its secret weapon! To confuse you with thinking it's a fish thus conclude it's a water type, when in fact BAM! It can't even swim!
...... Okay, I have no idea how that's suppose to be effective, but uhh.. um..:iconmagikarplaplz:
